About the Artist
Having
lived in New Mexico for 36 years, it's easy to see that the beautiful
New Mexico sky, landscape and ethnic diversity have influenced Fensterer's
work.
Largely
a self-taught artist, Fensterer attended many demonstrations and classes
facilitated by local artists in New Mexico; joining art organizations
and completing art studio classes at the University of New Mexico while
studying Organizational Learning and Communication.
Having
most of her working career in human resource administration, today Fensterer
is a full time professional artist with residences in New Mexico and Oklahoma.
Whether
living, vacationing or passing through the States, Canada, and Central
America Fensterer brings to her work universal visual communication
surpassing time and space.
In
a time of processes of negotiation, boarders, fences, war, peace and
globalization, Fensterer's work reminds us that humans share universal
practices of community through which meaning is made out of the visual,
aural, and textural world of representation.
Fensterer's
work is about things that are positive in cultures, representing shared
emotions, feelings, wants and desires
focusing on the pleasant,
and moving
like happiness, love, family, clean food and water,
support and safety for all our children: Believing "if you can
visualize it, you can attain it."
Drawing
and painting is Fensterer's media of choice to invest the images she
creates with significant power to conjure an absent person, place or
thing, calm or incite to action, persuade or mystify
In agreement
with master artist, Leo Neufeld: "
I believe art is surely
a path to enlightenment. Art will always be with us. It is part of who
we are."
